I am currently an Associate Professor in Finance at Loyola Marymount University. My research interests include mutual funds and corporate finance.
My work in mutual funds examines various issues related to conflicts of interest, social connections, and their role in fund management and performance. In corporate finance, my research focuses on the board of directors, i.e. the distribution of decision-making power between members of the board, director distractions, and director reputation in the labor market.
Please see my Research page for details on my publications, working papers, and other projects in progress. My Data page contains information on my hand-collected dataset on committee memberships within boards of directors. My Teaching page contains syllabi for my classes.
